Interesting: soy decreases male fertility
There was an inverse association between soy food intake and sperm concentration that remained significant after accounting
for age, abstinence time, body mass index, caffeine and alcohol intake and smoking
Read more at humrep.oxfordjournals.orgCONCLUSIONS These data suggest that higher intake of soy foods and soy isoflavones is associated with lower sperm concentration.

Wow & Interesting: For an ivf or icsi pregnancy you need 4 or 5 attempts!
Kind of a heavy burden for couple 4 or 5 cycles, but a good biz opp.
Cumulative pregnancy rate following IVF and intracytoplasmatic sperm injection with ejaculated and testicular spermatozoa.
Thus, according to the present results, couples with infertility who require IVF with ICSI should be offered at least five consecutive attempts if ejaculated spermatozoa are used, and at least four cycles whenever testicular spermatozoa are used.Read more at www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

Somehow clear that smoking is neither good for your health nor for reproduction...
Alcohol intake and cigarette smoking: impact of two major lifestyle factors on male fertility.
Lifestyle factors, like alcohol intake and cigarette smoking, have been reported to affect male fertility.
Read more at www.ncbi.nlm.nih.govCONCLUSIONS: Asthenozoospermia, the most common semen variable in our study, can be an early indicator of reduction in quality of semen. Alcohol abuse apparently targets sperm morphology and sperm production. Smoke-induced toxins primarily hamper sperm motility and seminal fluid quality. Progressive deterioration in semen quality is related to increasing quantity of alcohol intake and cigarettes smoked.

Was die Einlagensicherung wirklich wert istRead more at www.handelsblatt.com
Interessant! Sib.
Somehow an obvious idea: a plant that reduces stress related probs should be able to improve fertility, at least indirectly.
[Extract of acanthopanacis senticosus improves sperm motility of asthenospermia patients in vitro]
To study the effect of different concentrations of the extract of acanthopanacis senticosus on human sperm motility in vitro and to investigate its possible mechanism.
The extract of acanthopanacis senticosus can improve the sperm motility of asthenospermia patients in vitro and its optimal concentration is 10 g/L. The study may provide a new drug therapy for asthenospermia.Read more at www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

Lead and its Health Effects
Interesting what lead can do in a negative sense... especially regarding fertility.
Lead and its Health Effects
Lead exposure mainly occurs through inhalation of air and ingestion of Pb in food, paint, water, soil, or dust. It accumulates in blood, bones, and soft tissue and affects various organs of the body. High levels of Pb can result in anemia, kidney diseases, reproductive disorders, and neurological impairments with children being affected at levels as low as 10 µg/dL or less. Although chelation therapy for Pb poisoning has been used for more than 40 years to increase urinary excretion of Pb and decease the total body burden, its use is controversial. This has prompted researchers to consider the role of adequate nutrition, especially calcium and iron, in the prevention of the adverse effects of Pb with special reference to the reduction of Pb mobilization due to calcium intake.Read more at onlinelibrary.wiley.com

Oxidative Stress deminishes Fertility
interesting study.
Impacts of Oxidative Stress and Antioxidants on Semen Functions
Oxidative stress (OS) has been considered a major contributory factor to the infertility. Oxidative stress is the result of imbalance between the reactive oxygen species (ROS) and antioxidants in the body which can lead to sperm damage, deformity, and eventually male infertility.Read more at www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
